"Travel" is the most general of the term. It means moving from one place to another without reference to any specific place necessarily. "Trip" usually means one short visit to a different place. "Journey" is more epic. It suggests a long a time on the road during which you might even experience personal growth. I like to travel. I once took a trip to Italy. My journey began in the United States and took me through seven countries.

"Trip" is a noun (in the sense of travel) so it is correct to say: - My trip to Africa was unforgettable. and it is incorrect to say: - I tripped to Africa last month. (the verb "trip" usually means "to stumble" or "to fall while walking") [There is a related verb "to daytrip", at least in US English, but it isn't used often.] "Journey" can be either a noun or verb; as a noun it is 99% synonymous with a "trip". "Journey" conveys a slight sense of adventure, or a greater purpose, and it is less conversational than "trip": - My journey to Africa was unforgettable. - I journeyed (verb) to Africa last month. (correct grammar, but rarely used in conversation) - A journey (noun) of a thousand miles begins with a single step. (Chinese proverb.) "Travel" can also be used as a noun or verb. It is a general concept that simply describes movement from one place to another: - Car travel (noun) in Beijing can be frustrating. - She gets sick when she travels (verb) by airplane. - The piston doesn't have much travel (noun). (it does not move much before changing direction)

There isn't too much difference at least to me. Trip and Journey both mean going somewhere, Trips are generally shorter than a Journey. And a Journey is usually a trip that has meaning to a person or emotional attachment. Travel is the method used to go on a trip or journey but also can be general for going to more than one place or even to just say you are going somewhere. So like "I took a trip to the store" "I am going on a Journey to Paris" "I will be travelling all over Europe". I hope that helps!
