Uso de subjuntivo
en esta frase "si surgiera algún problema mientras estamos fuera, llámanos de inmediato"
puedes usar también el presente del subjuntivo? ("si surja algún problema...") o hay que usar el pasado?

Realmente no, pero si puedes decir " surge" ( presente de indicativo). Se me ocurre la forma "en caso de que surja un problema"
