Anything wrong with "It's very easy to take more than nothing" ? Can't figure out the logic within "I didn't have any tea, so I can't have more" and " You mean you can't take less." Mad Hatter: And be quick. Or you'll be asleep again before it's done. Mouse: Once upon a time, there were three little sisters, and they lived... March Hare: Take some more tea. Alice: I didn't have any tea, so I can't have more. Mad Hatter: You mean you can't take less. It's very easy to take more than nothing. Alice: Nobody asked you! Mad Hatter: I want a clean cup. Let's all move one place.

If you are learning English by reading Lewis Carrol, good luck! The Hatter is telling Alice that anything is more than nothing. The sentence is grammatically correct, just tricky to understand.
