Do you use this metaphor???
" I hope my child enjoy thriving in the sea of knowledge."
"thrive": if someone or something thrives, they do well and are successful, healthy, or strong.
So can I use it here to describe "growing up"?
"the sea of knowledge" seems rare in English, but I find "knowledge pool", are they the same?
Should I use it here to compare the broad of knowledge as the sea?

你好. "Sea of knowledge" is not a common metaphor in English, and is sort of poetic. But you could say something like: "My child is bored here in this small town, where nobody has much education. I want her to go to university and thrive in that sea of knowledge."
"Thrive" cannot be used to mean growing up. "Thriving" is something that a person can do at any point in life. A child can thrive at school, meaning that he or she is enjoying studying and learning a lot. An adult can thrive at a job, meaning that he or she is performing well, enjoying the work, and maybe getting promotions.
When we talk about someone thriving, it is often in the context of a change for the better. For example: My son really hated his old school and would not do his homework, but now that he is at the new school he is really thriving.
"Knowledge pool" is usually used to talk about the collective technical knowledge that a company or group of people might have. For example: The knowledge pool at Microsoft about computer programming issues is really deep.
I hope this helps. 加油。

"I hope my child enjoy(s) thriving in the sea of knowledge."
You can use it in a sense of growing up because we often say "I want to see my children thrive." which can be interpreted to mean "be successful," but I always understood it as "to develop successfully" as well.
"Knowledge pool" is more of an asset or resource you have at your disposal. "This team of educators is a good knowledge pool for teaching practices."
I think "sea of knowledge" is more of what you were going for.
Other than the missing s, you did great.
