On dit demeurer DANS une rue et non À une rue. On demeure DANS ou SUR une avenue, SUR un boulevard ou SUR une place. (Martinon, Comment on parle p. 578)
Dans l'indication du domicile ou de l'adresse, on supprime généralement DANS, SUR. "J'habite avenue Voltaire." (Grevisse - Le bon usage p.1034)

J'habite sur l'avenue (+ numéro de ton domicile). Sinon, J'habite l'avenue (Le nom) = sans article
