'Capital' is a noun and has three main meanings in English:
1) The big letter at the starts of sentences and for proper nouns (names and places like London, James and China)
2) The most important city in a country where the government is (i.e. the capital city, like London, Paris, Beijing)
3) the amount of money someone/something has (usually used for businesses or countries - you won't see/use this very often)
'To capitalise' (I'm British so using the most common British spelling, -ize is fine too) is a verb. There is a connection with the first meaning:
1) To change a lower case letter (a,b,c) to an upper case (capital) letter (A,B,C)
Lots of English nouns can be turned into verbs just by adding -ize/-ise, especially with business and scientific words. Verbs that end like this have the meaning 'change'. If you 'organise' something you are changing it from being unclear/messy to clear/tidy.
The second meaning of the verb 'capitalise' is connected to the third meaning of the noun 'capital'. It means:
2) To take advantage of.
This is a useful word and can be used in lots of situations. If you gain or achieve something from an opportunity, then you've capitalised on it. 'Capital' can mean wealth, so 'to capitalise' means to change an opportunity into wealth. At work, you can capitalise on a business opportunity to make money.
Nowadays it doesn't just have to mean money. You can capitalise on a friendship to gain happiness or you can capitalise on a social situation to find love, for example.
The main thing to remember is that verbs ending in -ize/-ise mean 'change' (or 'make'): Finalise (to make final), organise (to order/tidy when it wasn't before) and realise (to notice something that you hadn't noticed before).
Try to avoid confusing 'capitAl' with 'capitOl'. 'Capitol' is used for the government buildings (especially the American one).
Hope this helps!

Yes. One of the meanings of "capital" is 大写. "capitalize" is the verb form. English "I" to mean "me" must always be capitalized英文的我非大写不可. 因此也是首都, 資本, 最大化其利益, 尽使(利用) 之意.
