날카롭다 and 예리하다 are about the same as far as I know. 예리하다 is more formal (it's a hanja word) but both are widely used for both physical and non-physical things. - 날카로운 / 예리한 유리 조각들 (sharp glass shards). - 그의 비판은 날카로웠다 / 예리했다 (His criticism was sharp).
