Hey Serhat, how are you? The idiom ''to put (oneself) in (someone's) shoes/place'' is used when one considers what they would do or feel if they were in the position of somebody else. Loosely speaking, It means ''to imagine oneself in the situation or circumstances of another person, so as to understand or empathize with their perspective, opinion, or point of view.'' Below you shall find a set of useful examples: E.g.: ''Before being quick to judge someone for their actions, you should always try to put yourself in their shoes.'' E.g.: ''Put yourself in my shoes and then tell me what you would have done, Serhat!'' E.g.: ''Please, put yourself in his shoes! If your mother had just died, how would you feel?'' E.g.: ''I can't think of a time when he ever put himself in other people's shoes! He is quite insensitive!'' Hope that helps!
