I don't know how you figure this out, but all words are kind of the same. What's the difference between them?
"“We’re going to have to find new homes for some of your models,” I said to Brian one day. The loft was crammed full of pieces and I hadn’t seen the coffee table in years. He’d made a beautiful rocking horse, complete (31) ________ a saddle made from one of my old bags, which we gave to Brian’s sister. He’d also built a huge windmill that played Tulips from Amsterdam, which we (32) ________ to his aunt."

This is not really an answer, but be careful of the prepositions which come after these verbs:
Favour with: She favoured me with a dazzling smile
Confer (up)on: The Queen conferred a knighthood on him
Bestow (up)on: She bestowed a handsome legacy on her grand-daughter
Donate to: We donated my old socks to the orphanage
Without these prepositions, "favour" and "confer" mean quite different things, as Nanren888 points out.

As the pieces mounted up, the space in our house disappeared. "We're going to have to find new homes for some of your models," I said to Brian one day. The loft was crammed full of pieces and I hadn't seen the coffee table in years. He"d made a beautiful rocking horse, complete with a saddle made from one of my old bags, which we gave to Brian"s sister. He'd also built a huge windmill that played Tulips from Amsterdam, which we donated to his aunt.

Don't see it as similar.
It means preferred, liked the most.
B conferred
Formal, given by authority, as in a medal but probbaly most often a title, such as PhD.
"confer" also means to talk with, discuss with. Confer amoungst yourselves for five minutes, then report back.
C bestowed
Also formal, similar to conferred, usually a rank, which might include a title. Earl of Cambridge?
D donated
Gave away without payment.

31 is donated.. (old bag indicates this.. but "complete donated" doesnt make sense. So I'll assume you omitted "we donated...")
32. Conferred (usually used in context of giving someone a right to something)... so the aunt now owns the windmill? this all depends context of the paragraph btw
