I am confused by an answer given by Ms. anita998710 : A question about Chinese culture. Why is it bad to give somebody a towel as a gift. In her profile, she claimed that Taiwan is not part of China and she is Taiwanese. If Taiwan is not part of China, how does the Taiwanese culture related to Chinese culture. No. The lady is saying she wants nothing to do with your Mainland garbage. And she is right. The Taiwanese are free and can develop a real culture, unlike the fake materialistic garbage that is evolving on the Mainland.

I don't know why Eliot said "your Mainland", but seems he means "mainland China".
