My definition of an adventure.
When it comes to adventure, the first thing in my mind is to have a trip. It must be a very exciting trip with a little bit of risk. It also can be activities with some potential danger such as solo trekking, skydiving or some extreme sports.
On top of that, an adventure also refers to a gamble or a desperate choice. It means if you make a right choice, you maybe get a great achievement. On the contrary, you will loose your money, time, energy or other important things if you don’t.
It doesn't matter how one chooses, it combines pros and cons at the same time. It is a bold and risky practice with an uncertain outcome. It makes our life full of surprises and worries .
Take an love story for example. In Pride and Prejudice, Elizabeth refused a proposal from Collins , a man who can provide her a quality life but but is boring. She gave up a choice that seems optimal at that moment to wait for her real love. Her choice needs great courage, considering the woman’s status in that social situation. But as a result, she lives a happy life further down the road.
in modern life , some people choose a stable job and a smooth and steady life with a subpar income. some people do whatever they like but live an uncertain future.
For me, someone who lives a very normal life under my family’s overprotection without even a tiny risk, adventure is a magical word. I’m looking forward to an adventure in my life, maybe it’s a change that needs a lot of time to get used to it , but it is worth it.
As a matter of fact , everyone has a chance , but I have already get used to my life now, so I don’t have the guts to step out of the comfort zone.
Everybody needs an adventure to face surprises and risks, to overcome the fear from an uncertain outcome. It doesn't matter how things turn out, you'll harvest a lot of rich experiences and growth.

Spring Festival traditions
Seeing that the week after next is The Spring festival , the most important festival in Chinese. Today I want to introduce some of the Spring Festival traditions.
Usually, one or two weeks before Spring Festival , people get busy with the preparation of it.
First, before Spring Festival,we should have a Spring cleaning. We will clean all the corners of the room. It represents we sweep away all the bad luck of the year. And we can use a brand new appearance to welcome the new year.
Second, after cleaning , we would like to do Spring Festival shopping. Normally, we will buy a lot of different daily goods, including different kinds of food, cooking utensil or new clothes. The new year is the best excuse for us to buy something that we like but we were too stingy to spend money. we usually buy something red, because red is a symbol of good fortune. And red creates a happy atmosphere.
Third, a Family reunion dinner is an essential custom on New Year's Eve. We usually enjoy a big feast on that day. Fish and dumplings are the musts. They all have good implied meaning. Because many people who working in the big cities rather than their hometown, some of them only get to have one family reunion during a whole year. So it becomes very important for every family to get together.
Although we have many customs of Spring festival, in the age of rapid change, many traditions have changed. But something would not change which is the belief in a wonderful future.

My grandmother
Let me tell you about an important family member in my family.
She is my grandmother. She is 76years old this year. And she plays a significant role in my life.
When I was born, I lived in my grandparent's home. And I grow up there. Until now, I also live with them. We have a close-knit relationship. Not only because I grow up with them, but also the way she treats and raise to me.
First of all, she is kinda a tiger grandmother. She told me what’s a good manner and behavior.
Secondly, she is strict with my academics. She spent a lot of time going over my homework, helping me with my writing as well as showing me how things should be done.
On top of this, she gives me the freedom to choose what I like and respects my choice. Which is vital for me to be brave.
Besides, because we live together, so in some way, we have a similar personality. I take after my grandmother. Such as both of us are careful about everything. and I learned how to be more responsible in my life.
She is one of the reasons why I always want to do better in everything I attempted. I don’t want her disappointed.

Myopia problem in China
Recently in China, more and more people, especially young people, have been suffering from myopia.
In the last 5 years, our life habits have changed with the appearance of digital products and the internet.
Nowadays, digital products have mushroomed. Everyone has a phone, every family has at least one television. More and more people are getting to be an Internet addict. We can’t live without digital products and the internet. We shopping online, do recreation online, studying online even working online. One problem with spending too much time on the internet is that it keeps us from getting exercise and going outside.
This phenomenon has caused a lot of problems. The biggest problem is that Chinese people’s eyesight is gradually declining. Recent research claims that over 80% of the Chinese high school students are wearing glasses. Experts claim that children watch too many digital devices is the main reason for it.
The problem of people’s eyesight declining has many negative effects on our life and work. For example, some jobs have strict vision restrictions. And wearing glasses is not convenient for us to do sport.
What I’m trying to say is that we should try to do something to prevent the problem from getting worse.
I believe we can solve this problem through education in school and at home. We should instruct adolescents on life habits, and encourage people to put down the phone and go outside. Keep working out regularly. Enjoy our nature and the real world.

Beijing’s winter
As you know, Beijing is located in northern China. As a result, the climate is quite chilly in winter. Beijing’s winter is cold and dry. Usually, January and February are the coldest months of the year. The temperature could get below 10 degrees on the coldest day.
Fortunately, we have heating in every room. And I really think that global warming has had an effect on the weather. It’s not as cold as it used to be.
We haven’t had heavy snow anymore. Which is good for me, because I’m afraid of cold. I usually wear a lot in winter.
