Hello! I’m a native Japanese speaker living in Aomori prefecture, Japan. I’m currently working as an online Japanese teacher and as a Japanese calligraphy teacher at a kindergarten. I lived in Canada for six months, so I speak basic English. In my spare time I enjoy going to Karaoke and studying English.

I have been an online Japanese teacher for over ten years now. I have experience working at a community center to teach Japanese and most of my students were beginners, so I know what kind of questions beginner students have and the simplest ways to answer those questions so students aren’t confused. Many of my students tell me they don’t have enough time for speaking practice because their classes are too large or because they don’t have Japanese friends. I’ll let you speak a lot during our lessons. As you can see from my profile, I’ve taught hundreds of students and thousands of lessons on italki. I had my first trial lesson with Yuri 先生 today and thoroughly enjoyed it! My aim is to improve my Japanese speaking and listening comprehension skills. I was quite nervous at first, but Yuri 先生 put me at ease so quickly with her friendliness and warmth. She was very patient and gave me the chance to express myself, while explaining the vocabulary and correcting my grammar as I went along. I highly recommend Yuri 先生!
