Emika-sensei is a wonderful teacher! She is always on time, friendly and respectful. Her lessons are well prepared using textbooks, her own slides, audio and video material. I have learned hiragana and katakana thanks to her lessons and am advancing in grammar and speech. She takes time each lesson to revise and match the student's pace of learning. I highly recommend Emika-sensei!!

I've been taking lessons with Emika-sensei for a while now, and I have to say she is one of the best teachers on iTalki! She's excellent at the key things that make a teacher good: speaking slowly and clearly, explaining things in an understandable way, facilitating the conversation, and providing feedback on the most natural ways to say things. But more than that, I just find our conversations to be really FUN! That makes me look forward to our lessons, and it never feels like "work". She's just a really genuine person and takes an interest in our conversations. While reading, I got stuck on a sentence I felt I should have known. I sat confused for several minutes until えみかせんせい (Emika-sensei) helped me. She was patient enough to wait until I asked for help rather than just giving me the answer. Every lesson, there’s a moment where my brain seems to shut down, but えみかせんせい never once makes me feel bad about it. I might feel embarrassed in the moment for forgetting something, but she’s always there to assist and never judges. If you’re looking for a tutor and worry about feeling judged, choose えみかせんせい—I have nothing but good experiences, even when I struggle.
