Hello! I'm a native Spanish speaker born and raised in Mexico!
I grew up in the Mexican Caribbean so I also learned English as a child and speak it fluently.
I've travelled a lot around the world so I'm comfortable with lots of accents and also know expressions in other Spanish / English dialects.
* I do not teach children yet, sorry! :(

I'm a language tutor that will help you out by talking as natives do in real life :)
As a student from italki too, I realized the best way to learn a language is by talking,
because let's be honest, sometimes language books teach us phrases that are extremely formal or things that no one actually says!

We will have conversations as people in real life,
I will offer corrections and an overview of mexican culture and history if you wish, but most of all we will have you talking so you can forget about translating in your mind... and start thinking in Spanish or English! :)

I don't have much background in Spanish and am trying to learn from scratch. Her fluency in English was really helpful. She had great examples and tailored my learning to what I want and need for my language goals

Selene is one of the best teachers on italki without question. I don’t usually write reviews, but I feel inclined to as I have enjoyed our sessions a lot from week to week. She makes corrections at the right times, is very knowledgeable about US/Mexican culture, and always keeps the conversation interesting. I am glad she has been a part of my Spanish speaking journey and I can’t recommend her enough.
