Yuko

Conversations with Yuko-sensei feel like a real exchange - we move between books, films, and everyday life, and along the way she gently introduces new words and grammar. The hour always seems to fly by. Thank you.

Yuko is a hidden gem. She is fun to talk to and offers a lot of speaking practice in the lessons. Her patience and support is encouraging and has only made me want to study more. The lessons feel thoughtful as they are centered around important and relevant topics for what I am studying Japanese for. The homework is also solid for reviewing and practicing grammar points. She is prudent with her messages for both the homework and planning lessons. I like the interactiveness of our practices of exchanging dialog. If I make a mistake she corrects it and helps me understand it. Before taking her lessons, I always felt speaking in another language was nerve-racking but I am glad to have taken this chance with Yuko.

I've had several lessons with Yuko and she's been wonderful, way better than my past experiences trying to learn Japanese. I have fun, I learn new words every time and find a useful way to apply them!

I can assure you that you won’t be disappointed meeting Yuko. If you’re hesitant or feel a bit shy go give it a try ! I now really look forward to booking a lesson and having a conversation. Our discussions are varied and interesting, and I feel much more comfortable speaking Japanese. Yuko is kind and supportive. She asks questions and keeps the conversation flowing naturally. She’s also patient and gives you the time you need to express yourself, even if you make mistakes, and then helps you correct them afterward. I have had a few lessons now with Yuko and have enjoyed them. She has a very good and practical teaching style and makes every lesson very interactive and fun. Highly recommend.
