*Lessons last 55 minutes* HELLO AND WELCOME! I’m Marlene, an Italian Community Tutor here on Italki. I was born in Abruzzo, one of the greenest regions in Italy, and I now live between Italy and India. This experience has shaped the way I see languages: not just as something to study, but as a way to connect with people and cultures. I graduated in Tourism with top marks, and I’m a language learner too—I’m currently studying Hindi and Sanskrit. That’s why I truly understand both the joy and the challenges of learning something new. My approach is simple and intentional: I combine structure (grammar and clarity) with real communication—conversation, listening, and reading—so you can actually use Italian in your life. I don’t believe in “perfect students”, I believe in curious people who are willing to try, make mistakes, and grow (here we say “Sbagliando s’impara”). In our first lesson, I’ll create a personalized learning plan based on your goals, interests, and passions—so every lesson feels relevant and meaningful. If you’re looking for a relaxed but focused space where you can feel comfortable speaking and improving step by step, I’d love to meet you. Thank you and a big hug!

Marlene is such a lovely person. We laugh a lot during the lesson and time flies. We continued with household activities, prepositions and articles. I learned a lot, but never had the impression to "be at school", but rather to sit with a friend in a café. Thank you for this focused but relaxed learning style.

I feel so lucky that I picked Marlene for my first italki experience. She explains things well, and I always feel comfortable asking for clarification for anything I’m not clear on.
