Marija is a fantastic Croatian teacher. From the very first lesson, she quickly understood how I learn best. She gives great explanations and appreciates the challenges of learning a language so different from English. Our lessons have become one of the highlights of my week. She is kind and patient, and happy to answer any questions I have. Marija always seems to know just how much to challenge me. Even if I’m not feeling confident, she gently pushes me beyond what I think I can do, and I often end up surprising myself. I've made so much progress over the past few months and my confidence has grown. Marija’s lessons are always well structured, interesting and fun. She has such a warm personality and a great sense of humour - our lessons fly by and always leave me wanting to learn more!

Lessons with Marija are thought provoking and open to a deeper analysis of the world around us. Allowing a learning of a language and culture of a higher standard and at the same time, stimulating the senses in our otherwise mundane lives. Bravo Marija!

Marija is a perfect mix of an astonishing teacher and amazing person. She creates the atmosphere of relaxed and open conversation correcting mistakes in gentle and respectuful way so that the story line can´t be lost. After every class I feel inspired and motivated to learn more intense to be a good stundent for her :)

I have had conversation lessons with Marija for nearly two years now. As I live abroad and not in my home country a person who has also lived abroad - like Marija - will understand automatically what it means if you come to a new country. The challenges of the language, the customs and traditions, basically the culture. Apart from living abroad she has travelled widely which is an additional asset because it enriches our conversations when looking at Croatia because we are able to employ that outside look. Moreover, Marija is a resident in one area of Croatia, but originally stems from another area. This is very useful because it provides surprising insights. For me as someone who has roots in Croatia, but never has lived there this is a definite bonus because you can get to know different parts of the country in one person. If you are looking for an open-minded person with whom you can talk about almost anything then Marija is the perfect choice.

Marija is an incredible teacher & I feel so lucky to have found her! She has a deep understanding of Croatian, including dialects, & language learning processes, so you get so much out of every lesson. Combined with her warmth, kindness & patience so you can feel comfortable & supported to learn. She tailors lessons to suit your learning style & what is most motivating to you. Plus manages to always keep things interesting & fun. Can't recommend her highly enough!
