James Tugade

My Filipino speaking has gotten way better with Mr. Tugade. He tells me when it is correct, and he gives suggestions on how it can be more natural. At saka nakakatawa siya; he's funny! Please select him to be your Tagalog/Filipin teacher. Napakahusay si Mr. Tugade!

Sobrang thankful para kay James. Nag-aaral akong tagalog para sa isang taon at karamihan ang journey ko kasama si James. Pumunta ako sa philippines sa Marso 2014 at hindi ko alam kung nagkaroon akong same experience without tulong si James. Wala akong perpektong tagalog pero I will get there with James' help in the future. Please don't hesitate to book a class with James in whichever language you choose. James is a great teacher, so nice, and working with him was not only super helpful, but fun! He gave context to translations I needed help with and went above and beyond. Highly recommend!

Guro James is a great teacher and is often interested in asking his students about news from their region and sharing news from the Philippines as well. He prepares his lessons well if you have any outstanding questions he might not know, he will get back to you in the next lesson to answer particulars of Tagalog and also practise those examples. He is patient and will make the best use of time with however long your learning session is with him. I highly recommend him as an excellent Tagalog teacher and he's helped me immensely with improving my Tagalog. Maraming salamat po para sa mga session mo tsaka salamat sa pagtulong sa akin.

James is a very personable teacher! Even if you make mistakes, he's very patient. He uses multiple tools (flashcards, readings, videos, etc.) to help familiarize with the language, making lessons very engaging. Can't recommend him enough. Maraming salamat James!
