JJ Kim

JJ has been my teacher for almost a year and I have improved in Korean tremendously (as my Korean in-laws say). I really appreciate the level of preparedness, energy and helpful and encouraging teaching style she brings that feels both professional and friendly. More so, it doesn't feel stressful or daunting to do a lesson being already so busy, and it is an hour I look forward to, learning Korean by speaking, grammar study, vocab with cultural context, reading and writing. She has in-depth cultural knowledge as well as a broad experience teaching it to non-natives at all levels. Having changed a few teachers over the years, I can say confidently I really appreciate how JJ can explain small nuances of Korean language in English that sometimes doesn't even have a word to put at, yet I can finally grasp Korean word's meaning, whereas with other teachers I couldn't reach that level of understanding. Highly recommend, especially, if you want to improve language more thoroughly!

JJ is an amazing teacher! I’ve been taking lessons with her for well over a year now. Her lessons are well structured and she does a great job making sure that I am always making progress from lesson to lesson, while always reiterating on things from previous lessons very naturally. Aside from excellent lesson content, she’s also just a very good natured person to practice chatting with comfortably in Korean, as she creates a great atmosphere where I’m not ashamed to make mistakes when conversing. Overall I highly recommend her as a teacher.

I’m so grateful for the patience shown during the lessons and for the passion of teaching I sense in every single lesson! It truly helps me want to improve myself and the fun and caring environment of the lessons are making Korean studying way more easier! ☺️💕

JJ is a wonderful teacher! I have moved to twice a week in preparation for my trip and I can feel myself improving more, especially when I study all the materials she provides carefully- her lessons are always fun and she is always so patient and motivating!
