We use pauses but not long ones and not too often. Listen to this: I went to the sea to go to the beach two weeks ago. My brother and I wanted to go swimming. The weather was ... quite hot. The water was very relieving. Practice your speaking speed and fluency with these questions and others. Record your voice and listen for which of my recordings you sound like. 1). What did you do last weekend? 2). What kind of books do you like to read? 3). What do you usually like to cook for yourself?

Are you a student, or are you working? What do you study? What’s your major? Why did you choose this major? ( Choose is an irregular verb, so lets see if you can use the past tense of choose!) Did your family influence you in your choice? How did you make this choice? What do you like most about your studies? Does your study require the use of any technology? Do you study better in the morning or afternoons? Is there anything that you don’t enjoy about your studies? What’s the most interesting part of your major? What university do you go to? What do you like most about your university or school? Is there anything that you don’t like about it? Do you prefer to study alone or with classmates? Do you get along well with your classmates? Does your school/university have any extracurricular activities? Are you looking forward to working?
