Day 163/365
Today I watched a YouTube video and I'd like to tell you about it.
This video was about English and how we need to study it. A teacher says that if your level is about intermediate or less, the best thing that you can do is read adapted books and then start to listen some short videos (like Ted talks, simple conversations or easy explanations of something), or listen to these adapted books. On one hand, you get new and interesting information and on the other hand, we have some input process in our brain. I mean that when we have context, all information is stored deeper in our brain.
He also says, if you learn lists of words, it's not such a good idea, because, yes, probably you will be able to remember these, but without practice context is lost very quickly.
I absolutely agree with him. In my opinion the reading is the perfect way to spend your free time. It's very interesting and useful. I feel so much power when I can read and understand some English books. It gives me more energy to maintain my study of English.
