I hold a Bachelor in Languages for English and German, graduating in May 2024. Initially, I pursued a triple major in Psychology, Ancient Cultures, and Languages (English, German, and Spanish), but I had to adjust my focus in my final year due to scheduling conflicts. While my primary expertise is in English, I also have limited capabilities in German. My studies have equipped me with strong analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to teach and engage with diverse ESL students

These are simple, enjoyable and productive English classes for improving language skills. I include activities/games, and we can engage in verb tenses, idioms and phrasal verbs as well as numbers in English. I have sites that I also like using for listening practice, and I like creating lessons - at the moment - based on your level and interests.

Conversation practice

Listening and speaking activities for improving pronunciation. Simple exercises and activities are included for "L/R," "V/B," "V/W," "F/P" and other difficult pairings for East-Asian students (including consonant-vowel combinations). Exercises and practice for the "hard" and "soft" sounds of "TH" are also featured. 

I can also provide charts for tongue positioning and videos for extra help. This is hard work (for both of us) but very effective.

I have offered these lessons previously - to many students - under the "regular" lessons title.

Pronunciation Coaching for Chinese, Korean and Japanese students

A first lesson and package introduction with Peter (Παναγιώτης/Pierre). This is intended to give students - from all over the world - an opportunity to experience a lesson or package with me. It is a welcome introduction to each other, and to my unique teaching style. I have a lot of experience with Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese and Japanese students (Asia); Greek, Italian, French, Polish and Russian students (Europe); Brazilian, Chilean, Costa Rican and Peruvian students (South America); and French students from Canada (Quebec). This package is intended for adult learners who might be "shopping" for a teacher who is a good fit for their learning styles (who isn't "shopping" these days?).

I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from this prestigious university in Montreal in 1986. I studied math as a minor and philosophy (philosophy of languages) as a major. It was also where and when I developed a serious interest in French. Montreal is one of the best cities in the world for French and English.

I studied modern history and obtained my masters degree (with thesis) in 1994. I also worked as a Teaching Assistant (T.A.) on a regular basis during that period. My specialty was teaching the bilingual (French and English) Canadian Public Policy courses.

I taught English and math at this prestigious school in Hangzhou, China until recently (September, 2019). I developed curriculum and created tests and assessment on a regular basis. I learned more about being flexible and tailoring  classes for different learners' needs.

I taught English and Science to young learners who had very limited English skills. This experience taught me a lot about patience, perseverance and creating engaging lessons.

I taught English to Chinese adults from all levels. I specialized in beginners, but worked well with all levels. WSE gave me an opportunity to develop my creative teaching style in a formal atmosphere. I developed interesting and effective lessons for pronunciation, grammar and day-to-day speaking practice. The classes ranged from one-on-one private teaching to large groups.

I taught ESL - mostly business English, grammar, idiomatic expressions and pronunciation - in classrooms and on business sites in and around the Montreal area mostly to adults from a French and Spanish background. It was fun and rewarding to develop techniques and strategy for teaching English to learners from a Latin-based language.

I taught English at various vocational colleges in the Greater Montreal Area (mostly in the northern suburb of Laval) for a six-year period on a contract basis. The students were mostly young adults and the classes were often of a specialized technical or business English. I developed the skill of teaching English for specific jobs and careers.

I taught English, French and Greek (occasionally) at the adult training centre of College Platon for a six year period after I returned to Canada from South Korea. The students were predominantly adults from an international background who had come to Montreal to improve their English and/or French. It helped me develop the skill of teaching to students from diverse nationalities, backgrounds and levels.

I taught English to the freshman classes at the oldest and one of the most prestigious universities in Seoul, South Korea. It helped me develop the habit of creating unique and interesting classes with original testing. I also developed effective listening and writing exercises to help students pass exams.

I taught ESL to Korean adults of all levels for a little more than a one year period in probably the largest English language training centre in South Korea. Located in the heart of Seoul, this school gave me my first taste of teaching all types of classes to motivated adults. I learned to teach all types of classes - listening, writing, speaking, grammar and test preparation - one-on-one and in small and large groups.

I tutored English - mostly to Korean, Japanese , French and Greek students. It was either for business or exam preparation.  Most of the students were high school seniors, university undergraduates or adults.

Are you planning to take the IELTS exam? I like to approach preparing for the IELTS exam with 3 major things in mind. First, we need to understand the test format and how it assesses our skills. Second, we need to develop appropriate test-taking strategies and focus our energy and effort to efficiently and effectively respond to the test tasks. Third, we need to practice (a lot) to improve our language skills and test strategies through repetition, correction and adjustment. I will help you do all of this and make you feel more confident and prepared to take the IELTS exam! The BridgeTEFL Endorsement in English Grammar is a comprehensive grammar course designed specifically for teachers of English as a Foreign Language.

A trial lesson is set to get us to know each other but we need to take into account that we are sailing upstream on the river of time. So let’s say you book a trial lesson with me, we plan everything together through text messages and once we get into the lesson we get straight to work... I’m sure it is gonna be a good experience, so let’s do it!

If you are trying to develop your communicative skills, whether in a routine and everyday conversation or in an engaging and specific topic, my English conversation classes will help you become more fluent and more precise while providing you with the necessary tips to make your speaking more authentic.

I am pretty flexible in terms of topic because I believe by sticking to the topic that you choose, you will have a pleasant learning experience. On the other hand if you want me to pick up a topic, I can guarantee you will still be having a lot of fun.

One of the things that I believe really matters in a convo class is the way a teacher corrects you. Many teachers tend to overcorrect their students which might sound interesting at first; however, overcorrection undermines your fluency and makes it harder for a learner to become fluent over a period of time.

English Conversation

Each month there are ten titles for you to choose from. Booking these classes requires you to have a good command of English so you can read the texts on your own. Together in class, we discuss those texts, read important segments of them, talk about the historical and social contexts that these books are set in, and if you feel like it, you can write your analysis of these texts for which you will get feedback from me.
If you want to take this class, you need to have a good command of reading and speaking. This class is only available in long session formats (1h, 1h30)

World Literature in English

If you want to go on a really particular learning journey, Farsi is definitely the one for you. It is a fabulous language, that is full of particular nuances. It has a touch from old and extinct languages, from classical languages and from the modern and contemporary ones. You can learn a totally different alphabet and a vast array of so many particular sounds that exist in Farsi and you do not usually find all of them together in Western and European languages. Bear in mind that Farsi has two forms: a written one and a spoken one and they are significantly different with each other. You do not necessarily need to learn the written version if you just want to talk to people or visit some Farsi speaking countries but if you want to grapple with engaging texts, you can still count on me. I work as a translator of human science texts to Farsi which means I have the necessary mastery of the written language too.

This course seeks to improve your grammatical, reading and writing skills, so it is beyond a regular conversation class. We will be using textbooks, videos, listening and grammar exercises that help you build up your skills from scratch. If you decide to follow this type of lessons on a regular basis, you will have homework to do! I basically try to plan your learning according to your interests and I am open to suggestions from you if you want to learn or focus on a particular aspect of language. I got admitted to the American Studies program in University of Turin which is an interdisciplinary course of Literature and History of the Americas. I have just started my second semester. This course focuses on American literary movements and their historical roots studying them from a sociopolitical aspect.

I graduated in English language and literature

I have been working as a teacher to elementary and junior high school students training the students to participate in Cambridge Young Learner exams. Over the past six years, a high percent of my students have passed their exams with distinction and they have developed a visible interest in learning languages in general. I conduct lessons entirely in English and the students get the chance to improve their understanding very quickly and become active users of English very quickly.

In this school, I taught English to adults who need to develop their English for personal or work reasons. The school often kept me for higher levels which are more conversation-based. I used to use the latest topics and issues for such classes using articles from magazines or TV programs where students got to enjoy very authentic and up-to-date discussions.

Docere is a local recruit agency that puts job applicants through with companies and in order to increase their chances of finding a job, offers them courses that can develop their various skills. In 2015, the agency decided to include English in its course list. In this agency, I was basically in charge of everything from preparing, and conducting, placement tests, to teaching the courses and assessing the students.

Conversational Russian

This course is aimed at Elementary Plus/Pre-intermediate students who would like to boost their understanding of English grammar. In this course we'll start with relatively basic grammar constructions, finishing with some complex and often confusing grammar concepts from the Upper-Intermediate and Advanced levels. The course will involve both theoretical studies and a lot of practice (both oral or written). It will be perfect for students who would like to prepare for international exams like TOEFL or IELTS (and other Cambridge exams) and are ok with doing a lot of homework. The length of the course is about 60-80 hours, but naturally I will tailor it to your level and needs. If you are unsure about your knowledge of grammar and would like a structured, systematic approach, this course will be ideal for you.

English Grammar Course

This course is aimed at students who wish to expand their professional vocabulary and improve communication skills they can use at work. It's a very practical course with plenty of speaking and listening practice. It also includes writing lessons (emails, memos,  minutes) and preparation of your CV and cover letter, mock job interview sessions and much more.
Recommended for Intermediate, Upper-intermediate and Advanced students.

Business English

A general English course for two people suited to your aims and needs. We'll focus on grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation (British or American accent depending on your choice), writing and of course lots of listening and speaking. This course includes specially designed dialogues, interactive games and role plays to help you hone your production skills.

Individual IELTS/FCE/CAE preparation course suited to your aims and needs. May include any or all of the components: Listening, Reading, Writing, Use of English and Speaking. Minimum entry level to start the course: Bandscore 5.5 or equivalent.

IELTS/FCE/CAE Preparation

Diploma on completion of Master-2 level of English corresponding to C2 in CEFR.

Certificate confirming I received practical teacher training in the communicative approach and can now work as an EFL teacher worldwide.

Certificate confirming one-week placement as an interpreter at the UN offices in Vienna.

Certificate with the bandscore of 8.5 confirming that I am proficient in English
