It usually feels very scary to book a first lesson. Maybe you have had bad experiences with English learning in the past. Perhaps it feels strange to meet a stranger on a computer. And of course - trying something new is always scary! And I'm a new person and learning English this way - may be a new thing for you! 

But please don't worry! You're not alone. Nearly EVERYONE feels this way. It was the same for me when I had my first online class. 

I will bring care and empathy to every lesson, and especially the first one. In the trial lesson, I won't be evaluating you. I will not correct your mistakes on our first call together. 

Instead - my intention is that you feel comfortable and relaxed. I want you to see what I am like as a teacher, and I want to get to know you! 

I know your abilities are better than they will appear in this first class, because you will probably be nervous. That's totally normal! We're humans! 

I will listen without judgement and offer a lot of empathy. I will let you speak. I will give you the opportunity to really be heard.

This will allow us to see if working together makes sense. If we decide to continue with another class, what you share in the trial lesson will help me design personalized classes for you - based on your interests, lifestyle needs, goals, strengths, and challenges.

I immigrated to Argentina as an adult and learned Spanish here. I began teaching English in 2005 and later trained as a Health Coach, learning how to support people through meaningful change.

GETTING CONFIDENT: Coaching for Living & Working in English

For many people, even native English speakers, "small talk" is boring.

If you're learning English and you're someone who prefers to talk about deeper, more personal or meaningful topics -- small talk can be very unpleasant. 

I understand! That's how I feel. I don't like talking about the weather or what I did yesterday or what I am going to do for vacation/holiday.

Instead, I like to hear what people really think, what they have experienced in their lives, and what they care about.

I give students the opportunity to talk about what they LIKE to talk about. Things that interest them. What they like to think and learn about. Their lives. Their world. 

Getting a chance to actually converse, in English, might be just what you're missing - and it can help build your confidence and increase your motivation.

My students are usually people who like to learn - and outside of class they enjoy learning about psychology, philosophy, personal growth, art, creativity, entrepreneurship, and many other things. 

In our classes, I provide a space for students to talk about these topics - to engage with the material they watch or listen to. To share what they're learning and what it means to them.
