(This is not a conversation class, though some converation will be used in diagnostics and practice modeling. This is an Accent Reduction and pronunciation correction class, with the goal of approaching a Neutral American Accent (also called the 'Midwestern Accent'). The first sessions are dedicated to an extensive phonemic diagnostic based on students' existing natural speech, minimal pair tests, sample texts and other assessments. 

** IMPORTANT:  Please let me know before our first session what your native language is, i.e., the language you grew up speaking, even if it's not your current dominant language **

All students booking sessions with me get to benefit from my 30+ year background in broadcast and voiceover training, and my neutral Midwest [Ohio, USA] accent.

Special attention is placed on diagnosing and remedying phonetic distortion and inaccuracies which may stem from the learner's native language pronunciation and intonation patterns, previous poor training, and so forth.  All learners in my Accent Reduction sessions have different needs, depending on particular pronunciation issues, so the first session is spent diagnosing pronunciation issues, with exercises provided for home-study and practice. 

Accent reduction sessions are focused and intense, so I would suggest booking a 30 or 45 minute accent reduction/pronunciation session, followed by a more 'relaxing' one hour General Conversation or Public Speaking Session as an ideal combo.
