First lessons usually involve discussing your language goals as well as conversation to help me get an idea of your level. From there we can come up with a plan for future lessons.

Practice your speaking skills with a native speaker. Get corrections in real time and get the chance to learn about fun, new topics.
In your first lesson with me, we will have casual conversation where we will discuss your goals while also getting to know one another. I will offer corrections and explanations as needed and I *always* encourage questions. In future lessons we might also use videos (I love TedTalks), articles, and other tools like tongue twisters and games to challenge & improve your language skills.

I know practicing your non-native language can be a little scary and I strive to make sure my students always feel comfortable in class with me. First and foremost, I never expect perfection. In fact, I love mistakes! Mistakes are one of our greatest teachers. 

I like to keep a casual, low-stress environment during lessons while always being sure to provide constructive corrections to keep you progressing.

Note for lessons with kids: I find that I am most effective working with adults but I will work with young adults pending prior approval. If you are interested in booking lessons for your child, please message me before booking.

For intermediate and advanced students. 

Deepen your mastery of the English language as we study great works from American authors. Lessons will build on previous classes as we study short stories or even read selected novels. Classes will include a mix of discussion, worksheets & exercises, and essay writing on themes of the novels.
