We will decide on an interesting topic before the lesson (either I can choose for you, or you can pick something) and I will send you a link to an article or video that will spark thought and conversation.

Conversation Practice (Intermediate-Advanced)

Learn to speak clearly, expressively and with confidence!

Firstly, I believe that all accents are wonderful, personal, and something to be celebrated!

However, I know many second language speakers struggle with being understood, or experience some form of discrimination due to how others perceive their speech. 
In working together we will not "get rid" of your accent, but rather give you more options in how you speak, so that you can speak with your original accent, or with a standard UK, Australian or American accent!

We will work through the basics of phonetics, sound production and vocal health. Classes are fun, individually designed, and a safe place to explore expressing yourself in different ways. :)

Changing the way you speak starts firstly with knowing what the goal sounds are. Then learning how to make those sounds by changing the way you use your speaking muscles. 

I will guide you through a range of exercises designed to either strengthen or relax the muscles involved in speech production, and teach you the features of your goal English dialect. So that ultimately you are able to adjust your speech and/or accent at will - be it for work or in social settings!

Pronunciation Coaching is like seeing a personal trainer at the gym, I will give you the tools and exercises to meet your goals - and with consistent work you will be able to achieve your goals!

Preparing for a high stakes exam such as IELTS, TOEFL, CELPIP or PTE? I can guide you through the process, and help you achieve the best score possible. I've taken the CELPIP exam myself (12's in all topics) and have coached many students for the various other examinations, both General and Academic. 
We will work on your areas of weakness, and really polish your strengths so that you can get the score you need for study, immigration or work!

EXAM PREPARATION

We will work on a mix of skills; reading, writing, speaking and listening using interesting topics that are relevant to you! I will provide worksheets and writing tasks for homework, in addition to links to short videos and articles that we can discuss during our lesson.

120 hour teaching English as a foreign language certificate with a specialization in younger learners and exam preparation.

Bachelor  of Performing Arts degree in Music Theatre  with professional training in speech and dialect production
