What are structured English lessons?

Do you remember when you were learning English in school? Learning grammar, reading and doing exercises from a textbook. This class is kind of like that, but less boring. How less boring you might ask? Less boring because in school, you learned all these things but you didn't get enough practice which is why in this class, we will practice our speaking as much as possible while working through a textbook.

Who is this lesson for?

This lesson is for people who are looking for a structured lesson because they want to cover topics that they have missed or haven’t learn about yet but also still want to focus on improving their speaking. 

What will we be learning in this lesson?

Depending on your level of (Beginner to Advanced), your lesson will be planned around the content of a textbook that is suitable for your level.   In every chapter, we will cover (in this order):

Structured English Lessons (Beginner to Advanced)

This Business English lesson is designed to help you develop industry-specific vocabulary and enhance your ability to communicate effectively in professional settings. 

We'll be using a General Business English textbook to guide our lessons, ensuring you build a strong foundation for workplace communication.

A bit about me: I have a degree in International Trade and Logistics, and having recently graduated, I’m eager to gain practical experience in this field.

In each session, we dive into discussions on a wide variety of topics, from famous personalities to the future of the world, it really depends on what you like talking about. 

These conversations are designed to improve your fluency, build confidence, and expand your vocabulary.

To support your progress, I may assign grammar homework between sessions, focusing on areas where you need the most practice. This way, we can make sure you’re constantly improving.

This certificate shows that I have learnt and
practised the skills of English language teaching and have shown that I have the ability to progress as an English language teacher.

I moved to Türkiye in 2018 and spent a year learning Turkish before starting university. Studying in a different language was challenging and often demotivating—I even considered quitting. However, I’m glad I persevered. During university, I developed an interest in international trade, especially after taking International Business and Marketing during my third and fourth year. I want to be an expert in this field.

I worked as a part-time English tutor at a language center for a few months, teaching teenagers and adults. I used fun methods like conversation practice, along with videos and other materials to help them learn. During this time, I improved my skills in planning lessons and managing classes, making sure to meet each student's needs. My tutoring sessions in-person.

I have experience tutoring online, where I create fun and interactive lessons for each student. My goal is to help students build confidence in their English skills through conversation and practical exercises. I use different online tools to make learning enjoyable and effective. I love helping students reach their goals, whatever reason it is for. My diverse background helps me connect with students from around the world in a friendly learning environment.

For a few months, I worked part-time as an English tutor at American Life in Samsun, Türkiye. Though I’d helped friends before, this was my first formal tutoring job. I taught several 1-hour group conversation classes each week, which helped me gain confidence in speaking to groups and teaching new concepts. I enjoy helping others, and teaching English gives me that rewarding feeling of making a difference.

I started teaching on Italki as soon as I completed my 120-hour TEFL certificate. I saw it as a way to enter the online market and I soon realized that I enjoyed the one-on-one lessons. I’ve been able to help others improve their communication skills as well as my own. This experience has helped me learn more about myself, and what I want from life and it motivates me to improve.
