This course is designed to further improve learners' Chinese language skills so that they can handle more complex and specialized language tasks and communication situations.

I can participate in a wide range of conversations, both informal and some formal, covering topics related to school, home, leisure activities, employment, current events, and community matters. I can narrate and describe events in the past, present, and future, demonstrating some control of aspect, although I may handle narrations and descriptions separately rather than weaving them together. I am able to connect and link sentences into coherent paragraphs of connected discourse. I can effectively navigate linguistic challenges presented by complications or unexpected turns of events. I communicate my ideas with sufficient accuracy, clarity, and precision to convey my intended message without causing confusion. My native language influence may occasionally be noticeable through the use of false cognates, literal translations, or oral paragraph structure, and my speech may contain hesitations and self-corrections. I am able to use strategies like rephrasing and circumlocution to maintain communication and address any misunderstandings.
