TELL ME ABOUT YOUR DREAM JOB - Stay away from a specific job. You cannot win. If you say the job you are trying to get, you strain credibility. If you say another job is it, you plant the suspicion that you will be dissatisfied with this position if hired. The best is to stay genetic and say something like: A job where I love the work, like the people, can contribute and can't wait to get to work. / WHAT KIND OF PERSON WOULD YOU REFUSE TO WORK WITH? - Do not be trivial. It would take disloyalty to the organisation, violence or lawbreaking to get you to object. Minor objections will label you as a whiner. / TELL ME ABOUT A PROBLEM YOU HAD WITH A
SUPERVISOR, TEAM LEADER, MANAGER, OR BOSS - The biggest trap of all. This is a test to see if you will speak ill of your boss. If you fall for it and tell about a problem with a former boss, you may well below the interview right there. Stay positive and develop a poor memory about any
trouble you might have had.

weather report? I thought this cold front was 
supposed to pass.
GABRIELA: Yeah, I thought so too. That’s what I read online
this morning.
JENNIFER: I guess the wind chill is really driving down
the temperature.
GABRIELA: Can we go inside? I feel like my toes are starting to 
go numb.




LANGUAGE NOTES
• A “cold front” means a large mass of cold air. It can be plural: There were multiple cold 
fronts this January. 
• Here “supposed to” refers to something that is intended or expected to happen: I 
thought it was supposed to rain today. This phrase can be used for many situations: I 
thought the train was supposed to arrive at 9:00 a.m. sharp.
• Yeah / Yup / Uh huh are informal conversational cues used by native speakers in 
conversation. Each of these responses could be used here for “yes.” Gabriela affirms 
what Jennifer is saying. The most polite way to affirm a response is to say “yes.”
• Listen for the emphasis on “That’s what I read online this morning.” This useful 
phrase can be used with other verbs to convey information: That’s what I heard on the 
radio. / That’s what I saw on TV. / That’s what I read online.
• Chill / freezing / cold: These words describe cold weather. I feel the wind chill. / I feel 
the chill. / I am freezing. / I am cold.
• Wind chill is the effect of the wind making the temperature feel colder on a person’s 
skin. This is an uncountable noun. The temperature is 4 degrees, but with the wind chill 
it feels like -8. These phrases are used in weather reports as well.
• The phrase “driving down” means “forcing to be lower” and can be used in many 
situations. An oversupply of new houses is driving down sales prices in the area.

Self-Fulfilling Prophecy - To Fail or To Succeed?

A self-fulfilling prophecy is an expectation or belief that can influence your behaviors, thus causing the belief to come true.

The idea behind a self-fulfilling prophecy, also known as the Pygmalion effect, is that your belief about what will happen drives the actions that make that outcome ultimately come to pass.

Think a moment and imagine relating the above to your English development, what will it mean?

If you expect everything to go wrong, you might put in less effort or fail to take steps that could turn things around, which means that expecting the worst brings out the worst.

If you expect everything to go right you might be more eager, more enthusiastic and less worried!

Listen to the recording several times and allow the information to sink in and to influence you in it's own way.

En este episodio vas a conocer un lugar llamado “La Cumbrecita”, ubicado en la provincia argentina de Córdoba. Este podcast está recomendado para estudiantes de español con niveles intermedio y avanzado del idioma. ¿POR QUÉ LA CUMBRECITA ES UN LUGAR ESPECIAL EN ARGENTINA?

Es un pueblo íntegramente peatonal (aunque con algunas excepciones), de estilo alpino, cuyas construcciones evocan el estilo de pueblos germánicos de hace siglos.
Si bien el senderismo es lo principal, una de las actividades más inusuales de las que se puede disfrutar son las largas excursiones a los fríos ríos subterráneos, aún poco explorados en su totalidad por los espeleólogos. Estos espacios, con tramos estrechos, escasa luz natural, rocas de varios tamaños y un agua helada que pone la piel de gallina, deben ser recorridos junto con guías profesionales.  
La Cumbrecita, además de ofrecer impresionantes cascadas, bosques, valles y senderos, presenta una variada oferta gastronómica, como parrillas, casas de té y cafeterías, cocina y repostería centroeuropea, pastas y bares. 

Para los amantes de la aventura, dentro de este pueblo hay un parque temático donde se pueden realizar saltos al vacío, arquería, tirolesa, rapel, escalada en palestra, arborismo, entre otros.

Este lugar turístico tiene unos pocos miles de habitantes locales y es ideal para quienes, además de disfrutar de la naturaleza y de la adrenalina, buscan pasar unas vacaciones tranquilas en un ambiente relajado y agradable.
