คำอธิบาย
One of the most elegant patterns in the language — and once you hear it, you get dozens of words for the price of three sounds. Malayalam organises space, time and manner on a single three-way axis. Near me. Away from me. And the question. It marks all three with the same three sounds, over and over. Listen: ഇവിടെ (ivide) here · അവിടെ (avide) there · എവിടെ (evide) where Hear it? ഇ for near. അ for far. എ for the question. Now the same three sounds again: ഇത് (ithu) this · അത് (athu) that · ഏത് (ethu) which ഇങ്ങനെ (ingane) this way · അങ്ങനെ (angane) that way · എങ്ങനെ (engane) how ഇത്ര (ithra) this much · അത്ര (athra) that much · എത്ര (ethra) how much ഇപ്പോൾ (ippol) now · അപ്പോൾ (appol) then · എപ്പോൾ (eppol) when Four sets. Twelve words. One pattern. Learn the three sounds and you have stopped memorising vocabulary and started reading the system. Class 69 gave you survival directions — stop here, turn left, go straight. This class gives you the whole spatial system underneath them. In this class: • The ഇ / അ / എ axis and every word it generates • Above, below, inside, behind, beside, in front — the full set of positions • Giving and following directions in a Kerala town • Why this one pattern makes Malayalam feel designed rather than accumulated Quizzes below.
