Ngày xưa có một cậu bé được mẹ cưng chiều nên cậu ham chơi lắm!
"Một lần, cậu bé ham chơi quá, mẹ đã tức giận và mắng cậu. 
Cậu bé cũng giận mẹ nên đã bỏ nhà để đi chơi. Cậu đi chơi và không 
quay về nhà nữa!"
"Mẹ cậu bé ở nhà rất buồn bã vì không biết cậu bé đang ở đâu.
Cậu bé ham chơi không lo nghĩ gì cho mẹ ở nhà."
"Thời gian trôi qua, cậu bé vẫn không về, mẹ cậu bé quá đau buồn và mệt mỏi
đã gục xuống."
"Cậu bé đã bỏ nhà đi không biết bao lâu . Một ngày cậu bị trẻ lớn hơn đánh, vừa đói
 vừa rét cậu
đã nghĩ tới mẹ. Cậu nghĩ “Phải rồi, khi mình đói, mẹ vẫn cho mình ăn, khi mình bị

nở trắng như mây. Hoa tàn, quả xuất hiện, lớn nhanh, da căng mịn, xanh óng ánh."
Cây nghiêng cành, một quả to rơi vào tay cậu bé.
Cậu bé cắn một miếng thật to. Chát quá!
Quả thứ hai rơi xuống. Cậu bỏ vỏ và cắn vào hạt. Cứng quá!
"Quả thứ ba rơi xuống. Cậu bóp quanh quả, vỏ mềm dần và nứt ra. Ở kẽ nứt, một dòng sữa trắng sóng 
sánh trào ra, ngọt thơm như sữa mẹ. Cậu bé ghé môi hứng lấy dòng sữa thơm,
 ngon, 
ngọt ngào này. Ngon quá!"
"Cây rung rinh cành lá thì thào "" Ăn trái ba lần mới biết trái ngon. Con có lớn khôn
mới hay lòng mẹ"" Cậu bé òa khóc và nhận ra mẹ không còn nữa!"
"Cậu bé nhìn lên tán lá. Một mặt lá xanh bóng, một mặt lá đỏ hoe như mắt mẹ khóc
chờ con."
"Cậu ôm lấy thân cây mà khóc, thân cây xù xì, thô ráp như đôi bàn tay vất vả 
của mẹ"
"Nước mắt cậu rơi xuống gốc cây. Cây xòa cành ôm cậu, rung rinh cành lá như
