NOTE:
The sentence pattern “Vdic. と、～” means “Vます。すると、いつも～”. Therefore, the example sentence “いぬの　ぷーすけは　おかあさんを　みると、とんで　よころびます” means “いぬの　ぷーすけが　おかあさんを　みる→ いつもとんでよろこぶ”. It has the same meaning as “V る+とき ,” but with the added nuance of “いつも(always)”.

Ask Open-Ended Questions:  Ditch the "yes or no" questions.  Instead, ask questions that prompt elaboration and showcase your genuine interest in the other person's work and experiences. Actively Listen and Respond:  Pay close attention to their answers.  Nod, use verbal affirmations like "interesting" or "I see," and ask follow-up questions that demonstrate you're truly engaged.

Find Common Ground:  Look for shared interests, experiences, or industry knowledge. This creates a sense of connection and makes conversation flow more naturally. Mention a mutual colleague, a recent industry trend, or a shared alma mater (if appropriate).

Be a Giver, Not Just a Taker:  Networking is a two-way street. Offer your own insights, share relevant resources, or connect them with someone in your network who might be of value.

Remember Names and Details:  People appreciate being remembered.  Make a conscious effort to memorize names and revisit key points mentioned during the conversation.

Embrace Storytelling:  Weave relatable anecdotes or personal experiences into your conversation to illustrate your points and create a more memorable interaction.

Be Authentic and Positive:   People connect with genuine personalities.   Be yourself, showcase your enthusiasm, and maintain a positive outlook

Follow Up:  Don't let the connection fade. Send a personalized email within 24 hours thanking them for the conversation and mentioning a specific detail you discussed.

Nurture the Relationship:  Stay connected on LinkedIn, send them relevant articles, or offer congratulations on their achievements. This demonstrates your continued interest and builds a stronger bond.

To consolidate imperial authority, Sima Yan lavishly enfeoffed numerous princes of the same surname, thereby laying the groundwork for the subsequent ‘Rebellion of the Eight Princes’ that would tear at the heart of centralised power.
