คำอธิบาย
Today the tense system is finished, so you can talk about yesterday, today and tomorrow without stopping to think. This is the Manglish edition of Class 6, with every line given in Manglish and in script. The future is one syllable: pokunnu becomes pokum, and it never changes for the person. You add naale (tomorrow), the negative varilla, and then the warmest ending in the language, -aam (let's), which also gives you naale kaanaam, see you tomorrow. Swap -aam for -aamo and you have a polite request, including pathukke parayaamo?, can you say it slowly? Words and phrases in this class: പോകും (pokum) – will go വരും (varum) – will come ഞാൻ നാളെ വരും (njaan naale varum) – I will come tomorrow വരില്ല (varilla) – will not come ഞാൻ നാളെ പോകില്ല (njaan naale pokilla) – I will not go tomorrow പോകാം (pokaam) – let's go കഴിക്കാം (kazhikkaam) – let's eat നാളെ കാണാം (naale kaanaam) – see you tomorrow പിന്നെ കാണാം (pinne kaanaam) – see you later ഒരു ചായ തരാമോ? (oru chaaya tharaamo?) – one tea, please? വെള്ളം തരാമോ? (vellam tharaamo?) – some water, please? പതുക്കെ പറയാമോ? (pathukke parayaamo?) – can you say it slowly? നമുക്ക് ചായ കുടിക്കാം (namukku chaaya kudikkaam) – let's drink tea In this class: • The future in -um, the same for every person • Tomorrow, verb last, and the future negative with -illa • -aam for let's, and the two everyday goodbyes • -aamo for polite requests, and the most useful line for any learner Quizzes below.
