I met my junior high school friends from last year and we had lunch together. We talked about many things, such as high school life. The most surprising thing was that one of my friends got a boyfriend. After hearing that shocking news, I made up my mind to get a nice boyfriend. It was a very enjoyable day.

Held a luncheon” sounds too formal for a casual meeting with friends.
