Hi there! I have assignment that to presentation about Yokohama railroad so please to check my assignment! Today I will show you about railroad. Japanese first railroad was opened in October 14th 1872,its mean 150 years anniversary last year so it has long history. At first this railroad was connecting Shinbashi station and Yokohama station. This Yokohama station located in present Sakuragicho station. At that time, there were foreign settlements in Tsukiji near Shinbashi and Yokohama , so it was said that Shinbashi and Yokohama were the starting and ending points. As a result, it will be possible to move 29 km in the same section in about 1 hour, and the exchange of people and transportation of cargo will also be active. The Japanese government at that time, which had no technology, materials,and receive British support and invited foreign workers. In 1915 Yokohama station changed name that Sakuragicho station, but this station was burned in the Grate Kanto earthquake. Therefore this station was rebuilt in 1927, it was completed in 1989 and the north gate opened in July 2014. Now it has ropeway, so this station become more useful!
