Yes, I play (the) guitar. I chose to play guitar because when I was in/at high school, there was a kind of musical band who/which played at every event of my school (1), so I wanted to be part of them (2) and I learned to play guitar at home with YouTube videos and with my brother who at that time played the guitar much better than me.😊

(1) What you wrote works, but “at every school event” sounds more natural. (2) Again what you write is fine, but I think “wanted to join them” sounds more natural.
