Perché il verbo "abitare" fu usato nella seconda persona del plurare (abitarvi)?

"Abitarvi" means "abitare lì". The particle "vi" has the same use as "ci" so it's substituting a place. The only difference is that "vi" is less common than "ci" in spoken Italian, you find it more in books. So, abitarci = abitarvi.

Ciao Pilar! "abitarvi" è una parola composta dall'infinito del verbo: abitare + vi che è una particella che indica un luogo ed è usata come ci (abitarci). Questa particella viene aggiunta al termine del verbo all'infinito, così come un pronome (cambiarlo = cambiare + lo). Quindi non si tratta di una seconda persona plurale. Buono studio!
