I have been learning English for a long time now (more that 15 years) and the list of reasons I am learning it got even expanded recently : initially it was for school, then because of the entertainment industry ( movies and series ), then because it allowed me to apply for better jobs in my field ( project management) and finally because I have gotten to a decent English level, I could help people in my community learn the de facto lingua franca of the world and explore better opportunities.
