For Italians it is very difficult to learn English because we haven’t/don’t have the opportunity to speak English with others. I will be very happy if someone would speak with me about art or beautiful places in Italy. I have a degree in art history and can talk for hours/ages about that subject.
Haven’t the opportunity is an older way of stating that. We have since replaced it with “don’t have the opportunity”. “Hours about that” is more of an American way to say it versus ages which is more British. Another way of saying it in more American slang is “it’s been a while” or “it’s been a minute”.

Hm, really? Italian people have lack of occasions to talk in English?.. Sounds pretty weird) I was sure there are lots of English speaking tourists in Italy) Artworks... Okay.... Maybe, it would be persons of Osvaldo Lichini's paintings, or meaning of the Malevich's Black Square?..)
