From my view, I think some basic education should certainly be free, but not all. I think some professions should remain relatively few in number so as to protect their profession and high levels of compensation. For example, if everyone had the chance to become lawyer, it would then be hard to maintain a professional standard, and vicious competition would ensue. The end result would be that fewer people would want to become a lawyer.
