We wear kimonos when it comes to special ceremonies such as marriage ceremonies, and graduation ceremonies. Our ancestors used to wear these kimonos daily basis, however , it takes many time to wear them. Also uncomfortable. Since we were accepted western culture ,we are likely to use Western-type outfits which made us productive. However, we wanted to keep the kimono a part of Japanese culture. So the government forces them to wear sumo athletes as their daily outfits. Therefore, when I saw sumo athletes at the train station, they wore a kimono . That was my prospective of kimono.

We wear kimonos for special occasions such as marriage or graduation ceremonies. Our ancestors used to wear these kimonos on a daily basis; however, it takes a lot of time to get dressed. Also, they are uncomfortable. Since we have accepted western culture, we are more likely to wear Western-type outfits which have made us more productive. However, we want to keep the kimono as a part of Japanese culture. So the government forces sumo athletes, for example, to wear them as their daily outfits. This explains why sumo athletes I saw at the train station were wearing kimonos. That is my perspective on the kimono.
Hope that helps!
