"Hit a snag." I have _never_ heard "strike a snag." By the way, the literal meaning refers to river navigation. A "snag" is a hidden obstacle, like a fallen tree that can't be seen because it's underwater.

"Hit a snag" or "run into a snag". I have never heard "strike a snag".
