We have 56 ethnicities in my country. Among them, the Han has the greatest
population, even around the world. A great saying goes that the 56
ethnicities are like the seeds of a pomegranate, held together tightly. Each
of them needs the others, and none of them can live alone. Because the
Han people live all around the country, almost all people from the other 55
minorities can speak Chinese. Meanwhile, the cultures of different ethnicities mix
together. They have many things in common, but they still keep their own
distinct identity. These diverse cultures together form Chinese culture. We respect all people
from other ethnicities, especially the Han, who like an older brother tries his
best to care for his other brothers. All the ethnicities have the same goal:
to be stronger without any of the others falling behind. During the summer, people
from across the country visit other areas to experience different cultures. Maybe
they speak different languages, but all of them can speak Chinese. It's amazing!
The main five languages are printed on our bills (check the picture below).
