British accent or American accent? I first learned English with an American accent. I wanted to work in Europe, so I tried to change my accent from American to British. However, changing your accent isn’t easy. After spending a few years trying to speak with a British accent, I realized that I speak much more fluently when I use an American accent. My future plans have changed now, so I don’t feel the need to be particular about my accent anymore. I still love listening to British English, but I’d rather speak in a way that feels natural to me.
