You are late. You are being late. What is the difference?

If you are late, your lateness has already happened. It wouldn’t be, “you are being late” because “being” is happening now. You could say, “you are going to be late” (future). You could also say, you are/were late (past), and you are “being” irresponsible (present). Jack
