Yesterday I, a Brit, wrote a notebook entry in Mandarin that was corrected by a Taiwanese man, in response to a post in Mandarin by a Syrian in Jordan!

So the international nature ('hyper-diversity') of italki is one of the parts that I like the most!

I also enjoy correcting others' posts. When I was a child, my little brother used to get very fed-up with me because I was such a 'know-it-all'. Now I can put that annoying attitude to some good use, helping others!

I also appreciate the fact that italki is available everywhere, via the magic of the Internet. It's been impossible for me to find Mandarin speakers in a small British town, but italki leaps over the miles.

There are several things I really like.

I especially like that I can connect with people of difficult countries and cultures.

Another thing is, I live in the mountains where there is basically nothing nearby and I don't drive, so getting education is difficult, italki brings education to my house.

Also, the lessons with teachers are super good because it fascinates me that I learning Spanish or what ever language from someone who is in another country sitting there teaching me...this is partly to do with Skype but italki makes it happen.

Lastly, I have used other sites and italki is the easiest to stay organised with scheduling lessons and keeping track of them.
