"Thema" ist ein Substantiv und deshalb wird es groß geschrieben. Das Thema erinnert noch an die Kindheit, und folglich gibt es keinen Grund, die Tätigkeit in der Vergangenheit auszudrücken. That's my take on it.

Der erste Satz ist richtig.
Thema ist ein Hauptwort, und muss deshalb gross geschrieben werden.
