What do you think about hitchhiking ? I did it once from Paris to Berlin and enjoyed the challenge.

Men used to hitch-hike a lot, but now it is not considered safe. Some people still do it, though. You just hold your thumb out, and some people make a sign out of cardboard and write the city where they want to go.

There have been too many incidents of people getting robbed by hitchhikers in Australia, so not many people are willing to pick them up any more.
