What is your favorite childhood memory?

This week's themed discussion. Today's theme is going to be "Who are you". So every Saturday I will post 3 discussion topics related to that theme. I would like for everyone who participates to post their own answer and also leave feedback on 2 other peoples' posts. When you leave feedback I would like for you to say why you agree or disagree with their post and explain why. I would really like to encourage everyone to make your posts at least 3 sentences long. Everyone is also encouraged to leave feedback on each others' post to help them with spelling, grammar, and sentence structure.

One of my favorite childhood memory is my primary school classmate. He is a very kind person. We were so close friends. We have done many crazy and funny things together. I remember one of our crazy things is one day during a class ( I don't remember the subject ) we started a fake fight. He was acting so well. Even me thought that he is serious. But for me, I couldn't keep up with him. so I started laughing. Of course we got our punishment from the headmaster. Unfortunately each one of us has taken a different way in life. I don't know where is he now. I don't know if he is still alive or not. but I just know one thing, I will never forget him.

These all sound like some very amazing memories. @Anna W- What is baozi? I have never heard of it before. I also have a lot of childhood memories about food. Mostly baking cakes with my grandfather. One of my first jobs as an adult was working in a bakery as a baker. Because I loved it so much with my grandfather, baking was always a relaxing thing for me to do.

One of my foundest memory as a child is going by the river with my parents, there l would enjoy peace and queit, and listen to chirps of birds,we swim on a yearly basis, which already been our rountine family bussiness, the weather in my hometown on summer is too hot to go outside for activities, except spending whole afternoon to soak in water, and then we walk home for 1 hour hands together in sunset.

A huge amount of my sweet memories are also related to food by mommy and grandmom,l remember <em>baozi </em>and all kinds of delicious food, how do l forget that!

I really miss my grandmom, she was so considerate, kind.

My Childhood was very wondrous. I really enjoyed my days playing with my childhood friends. There were still so many places where kids could play, like small waterfall, a small forest, and a small river. Playing in the river and catching fish were my favourite activities in those days. It was very easy to catch fish because the water was so clear. Also, times were different, my friends and I did not have store-bought toys to play with since our parents were short of money. So, we just created our own toys. Our houses in a small village, and it was very quiet, still and very different from the city which is full of hustle and bustle. Our playgrounds were places that that our feet could take us. We were so close and we made promises that nothing could separate us hehe but everything changes when we grow up. We have never had a time to talk. They all have gone. They already have new family and some of them moved to the city. hehe I am happy for them, but sometimes I miss the old days spending my time playing with them.

For a strange reason, most of my childhood memories are related to food :-)

I still missing my grandmother's bakery (<em>or pastry ? I'm not sure about the word</em>) and her long waited parcells with zephyr (<em>a kind of marsmallow</em>) because this amazing confectionery wasn't produced in our small town but we adored it above all things.

I also remember the first time I tasted Pepsi-Cola, the drink that I've heard a lot about but only got a chance to taste it at age 10 when my parents and I came to a vacation to a resort town. It was the Soviet Union period with the Iron Curtain and Cola was symbol of this "devil capitalism" that we all were so brainwashed from childhood.
