For Ellen (who asked the question) or for anybody :) How to add Russian in Windows XP Hi, Ellen. I'm learning Russian, too. If you have Windows XP, you can type Russian by doing the following: Go to your Start menu. Go to Control Panel. Click on "Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options." Click on "Add other languages." Select the "Languages" tab, and then click on "Details." Change the Input Language from English to Russian, and click on "Apply" on each window on which it appears. You will now have a language bar on your desktop screen. Click on the bar to open it, and select Russian. Now you will be able to use your keyboard to type in Russian. When you want to type in English again, just select English on the bar. There are also Quick Keys you can set up to change easily from one language to another. I've forgotten at the moment what commands to use to bring up a Russian virtual keyboard on your screen so that you can see which keys on the keyboard correspond to which Russian letters (until eventually your fingers have learned them so well that you no longer have to refer to this helpful layout. Will write another note here when I find out. :)
